help new duckling

had a bit of a long hatching. just come out. internally pipped 3 days ago but i assisted by opening the shell. not seeming like a normal chick self. been giving it some sugary water. any suggestions

I raise pigeons and if something like this occurs I use a dropper and mix some raw egg yolk with a little cream of wheat and drop it into the crop. Hope it helps.

duckling he is very weak and wobbly and just lays there. but he has just hatched

update: went to feed him more sugary water and he started to try and walk but fell over a few times. very uncoordinated

Have you ever hatched before? It's normal for them to be wobbly and sleepy after hatching. It takes a few hours for them to dry off and perk up. If you are noticing that he is extra wobbly or extra sleepy do wat @VWojo said. And I think most porridge would work.

i have yes but he was dry when we went to check xx
