Im new at incubation and i just have a quick question . I havent put any eggs in the incubator yet but i have candled sum of my eggs and they have black spot at the end "not the pointy part of the egg but the dull part" i was wondering what that is ? Is it fertile or infertile

We're glad to have you.

I'm not sure what the black spot is, but it isn't a sign that the egg is fertile (unless a hen has been sitting on it, and even then, you'd probably see veins). You can only determine fertility through candling after the eggs have been incubated for at least three days.

Good luck with any future incubations! That's one of the best ways to see whether an egg is fertile, because you end up with lots of fluffy chicks if they are!

I'm glad you joined us!

I'm not sure what black spot you're talking about. From what I can see, though, your eggs look like normal, non-incubated eggs. You can't tell fertility at this stage.
