HELP - one chick has hatched and other only pipped

I'm a first time hatcher and feeling a bit anxious my first egg pipped at 11am by 11pm that night it had zipped and by midnight it was born. The other one pipped at 4 pm on the same day as the other one but nothing since it is now 8am the following morning so 16 hours since the last one pipped and the one that was born is fine it walking around chirping and pecking at her egg Shell but when shes walking around she's knocking the other egg and I'm panicking that she harming it

and wondering when to move her to the brooder as she will be alone

Don't worry just yet. Her peeping will encourage the other egg to continue with its zipping...can you see movement or hear peeping from the egg? What is your humidity level like? Keep that up at 70% or more. It can be 24 hors between pip and zip. If it goes on much longer than that or the zipping starts but stops for more than an hour, you may need to decide then whether to interfere or not.

I can't see movement and not sure about tweeting as I'm not sure if it's the other chick that already hatched in there doing it. The humidity is high I will leave it till 4pm today as that will be 24 hours and see if there's any progress

Sit on your hands and wait. Interfering at this stage will only complicate things. If the chick does need help this article will help you help it.

Well it's nearly 4pm and she still alive as I can see her beek poking out and a little chirp ever so often. I took the other one out as it was peck the egg that hadn't hatching and she's in the brooder now and I put a warm towel in the incubator when I took the chick out . How long more shall I wait till I intervene ?

She's doing well to say she had pipped at the wrong end thought I was going to have to help her at one point.

It's always hard to know when and if to intervene. You did the right thing by sitting your hands and letting things unfold naturally. Hatching is not always so straight forward. I would recommend that you bookmark Sally sunshines article, you never know if you might need it next time.
