One of the hens we purchased is crowing, lol! We are not allowed to have roosters where we live. Anyone have any suggestions? We've raised him since he was a day old and have had him for almost 3 months so he is more of a pet now. I'm stressed out to say the least. I feel like taking him back to the Rural King where we bought him (well, he was supposed to be a "her" at the time, lol).

Any chance there is a wayward home for roosters? We live in Southern Illinois. The only thing I can think of is to post him on Craigslist and hope to relocate him.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Word of mouth works well to. Tell lots of people. I was able to find a home for my too, plus two others volunteered too. All found by chatting up customers at starbucks (I'm now the crazy chicken barista, but it worked!)

Good luck with rehoming your roo...

We were able to re-locate our roo. We have learned a lot about chickens in the past 6 months and are loving every minute of it. Aside from having to re-locate a roo and losing one to a hawk, we are having a blast with our chicks. They are now almost 6 months old and are all laying eggs. They started laying about 6 weeks ago and I still get excited every day when I check for eggs, lol. I'm looking forward to finding a new home in the country so we can expand our homesteading adventure. Next, we'll be raising bees and goats. Thanks to everyone for their suggestions.
