We have an 9 day old guinea keet and a one week old speckled Sussex chick that we've had since the day she hatched. The speckled Sussex seems lethargic, has runny poo and doesn't seem to be eating much We lost our little Americana chick 3 days ago(she seemed weak and lethargic also) so we started the remaining 2 on Corid as I had read that coccidiosis might cause those symptoms. Up until today the remaining 2 have been very active and eating and drinking well. We have them on non medicated Purina game bird starter so the guinea keet would get high enough protein.
Any ideas on how I can help my speckled Sussex chick would be greatly appreciated.

She seems a little more interested in eating and drinking but she's laying down when she does it. When she stands to walk she seems a bit off balance...

Hi there, not sure but maybe she needs chick starter instead of game bird feed. Is it possible she has developed some sort of nutritional deficiency? I am not sure of the differences in the two types of feed, but that would be my guess as to why she is doing poorly.

Is the temperature of the brooder around 90°?

I can check what the difference is but the game bird feed is a starter... The tag on it says Purina Game Bird & Turkey Startena. I attached a pic of screenshot for Dumor 24%chick starter and I took a pic of the label on what I've been feeding.

They seem pretty similar, but I just know that sometimes it is best to stick with the food that is made specifically for the breed and age of animal. I have seen other posts where people have fed their baby chicks other food and their chicks seem to die at very young ages. They just seem so delicate and without a mama showing them what to eat, you are sort of like the mama.

I guess I would wonder then if switching to 24%chick starter would compromise the health of the guinea keet...
