I have 3 blue chicks about a month old. One of them is fine, one is missing one toe and has another mangled, and the third only has 2-3 toes left intact. All three of the chicks were fine when I moved them to a larger cage on Saturday. I was out there for a while trying to figure out if a rat or something could have gotten in and harassed them and I saw that they were pecking each other's and even their own toes.

I've been searching around and I can only find information of chicken chicks pecking each others' feet and I don't know how helpful that information would be for the peachicks. They have plenty of food, a combination of game bird starter crumbles and crushed cat food. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's a solid bottom cage three feet off the ground on a screened porch. I haven't put them in a wire bottom cage because the dogs tend to get curious.
