hi. I’m hatching quail and it’s day 18. I have 14/33 hatched and I put them in the brooder every 12 hours. There’s a few in the incubator that have cracks in shell but no movement. One you can even see feathers, but I can’t see it breathing. Humidity has gotten as high and both vents are open. It’s about 86% now. Are the rest dead??

I just had my first hatch this weekend. Coturnix and chickens. It took my babies 3 days to get out. I had several that piped and then did nothing for over 24 hours then all of a sudden they zipped the egg and fell out! One thing everyone has tought me hear about hatching is patience! Is there a chance you let to much humidity out and they shrank wrapped? Or they could just be slow movers. My broody hatched along with me this weekend and she took 3 days to complete! From what i have read online 24 hours is the usual but 2 to 3 days is nothing unusual!

The humidity didn’t drop much and it went right back up. It’s in my bathroom and it’s hot and humid in there. I put the shower on to give a little extra for when I pulled some out. Hopefully more will come. Thanks!

I figured that wasnt the problem just threw it out. I opened mine several times to get babies out since my hatch span so much time and didnt have that issue. I got 16/18 chicks and 12/22 quail sadly. but i do belive my incubator was to hot because they started hatching 2 days early
