I'm a nurse and thats a prolapse alright. I had a patient with one and we put cold compresses on it and it would draw it back up. Don't know what to do when its a chicken.

Is that her vent? It looks like a prolapsed vent. I don't have any experience but there are tons of threads on the topic that should come up if you do a search. Good luck!

As a matter of urgency, remove her from the general population immediately! The other chickens may peck her to death if she is not isolated until that heals. The links ddawn directed you to should help you immensely. Good luck.

Thank you for all the info!! Water is cooling, I don't have any PH so will make a trip first thing in the morning. She is in the dog crate on the porch, so I'm thinking honey is out. (don't want her to get attacked by ants.) Thank you!!!!

Got it back in and she is now in the laundry room. I know darkness slows down chickens, does it also slow down guinea egg production?
