I have a GQF model 1202 air circulating incubator. It came with the thermometer and the string to place in the water receptacle. I have never used the wet bulb method and don't know how to do it. I have goose eggs and will put them in tomorrow. Can someone tell me how to convert from the dry to wet method.
My goose eggs will incubate at 99.5 degrees dry, but they need 86 % humidity until day 25 then the temp does down to 98.5 with 94% humidity.
I need to know if I put the string over the end of the thermometer or over the entire thing. And I need to know what my thermometer should read in order to have the right humidity readings.
I have looked at some of the conversion charts and still don't understand the specifics.
Thanks in advance for your help

Just place the wick (string) over the probe. If it is the dial that came with the incubator you should cover it at least three inches. Just make sure you still have the wick submerged in the water pan pretty well. I haven't done any goose eggs so I may be wrong but are you sure 86% or a wet bulb reading of 86? I figure it is a wet bulb reading of 86 so it will be a rh of about 50% give or take. To figure rh% just take your temp and go down the chart to whatever the wet bulb says and that should tell you the %.
