My guinea is a year old and has slowly stopped laying eggs. We checked to see if she was egg bound but we couldn't feel anything. She will be walking/standing then will all of the sudden fall down. Once she is down she doesn't want to get up. This is taking place inside of her coop and also out in the yard. She is also having difficulty flying into her coop. She is panting and ruflling her feathers frequently. This all has been going on for about four days. I am really worried about her and I don't want to lose her. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I'm sorry, I don't own guineas, however, I'll try to help as much as I can.

Does she have diarrhea or worms in her droppings?
Is it really hot or humid out?
Does she have any leg problems such as bumblefoot?
Do they have parasites such as lice, mites or fleas?
Is she getting proper nutrition such as vitamins, calcium and protein?
Is she clicking while breathing or is there discharge from her eyes, nose or vent?
Is she eating or drinking anything toxic?

I hope she gets better soon. Best of luck!

Her droppings seemed to be pretty normal although I did find one area of diarrhea. I didn't find any worms in her droppings.
The weather has been pretty warm and humid. Last week it rained every day.
I just looked up bumble foot and I will have to check her in the morning. This might be the problem but I will have to look at her.
I don't think we have a lice/mite problem. I have checked her but I will double check tomorrow.
I think her nutrition is alright. We give her oyster shells and I put some electrolytes in her water. We haven't changed anything from what we normally do.
I checked her nose, eyes, and vent for discharge but I didn't see any.
I don't think she has ate anything toxic because she is just staying close to her coop and under one of our shade trees near her coop.

Thank you so much for the help!!

Guineas naturally come from humid areas, so this may be part of the problem. Also, I don't know how long Guineas lay, but she may just naturally have stopped laying for the rest of year, or perhaps to molt.
The humid air may make it difficult for her to breath or get comfortable. I bet a dust bathe would help, a dry pace where she could relax. Also, make sure to give plenty of cool water, perhaps with some ice cubes in it, to help her stay cool.

We are going to bring her in tomorrow and keep her in a cage in a cool place. I will keep you updated when I check her tomorrow. This is our first time owning any poultry so we are a little unfamiliar with the illinesses they get. I can not thank you enough for taking the time to help us out!!

I just got her in a cage by herself to look at her more closely. I noticed that her belly area looks swollen and she has no feathers on the area? Can that be possible? She hasn't been attacked by anything because she stays within our sight.

Chickens can get swollen bellies because of water belly or perhaps egg yolk peritonitis. I know other animals can get swollen bellies from worms, but I'm not sure about guineas. A bald belly is also the sign of a chicken going broody.
