Hi everyone.
I’m the UK. My paired Muscovy’s Bob & Pip, share a shed together. She’s been sitting on her eggs for two weeks now. She only comes out in the morning and about 6pm evening.

This morning she came out with a cut on her head.(see picture) I’m wondering if he’s tried to mate/tread her and cut her with his claw?
They still seem happy enough together and she’s not running away from him.

Does anyone else have experience if this and how it might’ve happened or what I should do? Do you think it was Bob & should I separate them now?

Thank you so much xx

They are sure pretty.
It could have very well been Bob especially if he hasn't any other females. I keep my broody Muscovy separated from my drake so she doesn't have to put up with his amorous ways. Plus it's a good way to get busted eggs. Temp fencing so they can still be together but he can't be mating with her. You didn't say how long to hatch but having some type of fencing or lattice up will be a good idea for when ducklings hatch. Drakes have been known to injure or kill ducklings so it's always a good idea to keep mama and ducklings safe for a couple weeks.
