I know it is probably to late but, I have to ask just in case there is any chance.

I am doing a hatch and this is the end of day 20. Everyone has has hatched but, about 3. Two have pips and one doesn't.

OKay, so this is my problem. On day 18 my one egg started rocking a lot and on the morning of day 19 it was still rocking. I don't think I have anything since and this is the end of day 20. Is there any chance its still alive but, just couldn't pip. I know its probably dead, should I try and pip it myself just in case it is in there and still alive?

I wanted this little baby soooooo bad it the only one I had and I ordered it from someone on here. If anyone has any experience with this please let me know. Its okay you can be honest I know its probably dead but, I just need to know if there is any chance and if I should try to hatch.

If it has not pipped or starred, I would raise the humidity real high, take the egg out and candle it, peep at it and lightly tap it, see if it answers you and candle to see if it has internally pipped..sometimes they take a break then try again. Just dont open the incubator if anyone has pipped.
I have also read where you can put a really small hole in the top of the round end to give it air if it has internally pipped..
good luck and I hope someone with way more experience than me chimes in..

Look for an internal pip, see if there is a beak peering up into the air cell. If there is and it's alive leave it and if it's still not out 24 hours later, I would go aheand and pip for it in the air sac. But if it's not moving any more, it is posible it has died.

I haven't any experience's with this but, its ok. Take a deep breath!

My last broody chicken left the nest at day 20, and I had 1 chick that I should of kept on day 24 and the one that I did on day 25 hatch. I hope that this helps you.

Thanks everyone,
I did try to candle but, it was a very dark egg and so I couldn't tell what was going on. It was a dark Maran egg. I opened it in hopes I could save it but, it had already passed, the chick was two big for the egg so when it did its internal pip there wasn't an air sac and it drowned.
