So ive had my first 2 chickens for about 1 year and i recently got 2 new ones, and yesterday i walked into the chicken pen and found that one of the new ones eyes looked like it had been pecked and also half its comb is gone! I'm concerned about it and i can't affored to take it to the vet right know so i read on a couple of sights that using apple cider vinegar in their water can stop the pecking, but i don't know really what to do because my chickens and 1 duck drink out of the same water container and the duck is not the problem. Please someone help me!!!

Hi and :welcome from Ohio. So glad to have you aboard. The injured does need to be separated because even the ones that didn't start the pecking will do so now that blood has be drawn. The is a wound dressing called Blue Kote. It helps cover the redness. It does stain so wear gloves. Did you separate the new ones before adding them with the others? They need an adjustment period where they can see one another but can't get to each other for a period. Good luck. :thumbsup
