Help please

I have bobwhite quail 7 months old. They keep dieing on me. Do not look sick,eating good, not fighting. lost 5 last week, 2 on monday. only have 5 left. checked the dead ones out. there not skinny. they are off the ground. Any ideas? Thanks Jim

Because they are all dying at once, they probably have some bacteria or virus infection or need to be wormed.

Ulcerative Enteritis is common in Bobwhites and kills them very quickly. One of the clues is ashy grey poop. The quail will not look sick until they are about to die. Any of the tetracyclines will take care of UE...Duraymcin works great for this bacteria.

Worming is important and should be done once a year if not twice a year for good health in quail.

If I were you, I would start them on antibiotics. What ever they have sounds contagious and is running thru the flock. If that does not fix the issues, worm them.

Lastly, you can do a necropsy or have one done to determine the cause of death.
