One of my ducks ( a khaki campbell male) has been outside in 90 degree weather all day, he has a pool and a bucket of water but he is walking around the yard and keeps passing out and looks really out of it, he is not looking too good and I do not know what to do? Does anyone have any suggestions or know what could be wrong? I don't know of any vets I can take him to after hours?

Thank you!

Could be heat, could be botulism, but I would get him indoors in to a lukewarm to coolish tub of water.

How hot do his feet and bill feel? Do you have a relatively cool place, like even 70 or 75? Our basement is about that temperature (upstairs right now is closer to 90 but that's another story).

Make sure he is drinking. Do you have any vitamin-electrolyte mix?

His feet and his beak are both cold/roomtemperature, he is inside now and our house is around 70 degrees. We are trying to get him to drink but it is not working out very well, he just does not seem interested. Also we do not have any of that mix, but we do have gatorade would it hurt to try and give him a little bit of that?

Gatorade has too much of what he doesn't need, I feel.

Do you have apple cider vinegar? A teaspoon of that in a quart of water to start.

What about cucumbers? Chop some up and put them in water, even if he doesn't eat them, they impart some vitamins and electrolytes into the water.

Activated food grade charcoal in water, a tablespoon per quart, may absorb toxins in his gut, is another idea.

A little sugar in water would be okay, I think.

I need to go offline now. If I can check back before the morning I will, so please update us. Prayers for you both.

Thank you very much I got the supply's for the charcoal water a few hours ago. He is a trooper still very drunken walking and wobbly and falling but he is alive still so I am glad and hoping that the activated charcoal water will help him, I'll keep you posted!

I have tried everything you have mentioned but he is now seeming to get worse. I have no idea of what it could be from. Thank you so much for your suggestions at least I tried for him.

I have tried the charcoal mixture but maybe I should try the Epsom salt or the molasses mixture.

I would try either of them, you just never know what might help.
