My chicken is one year old and a few weeks ago she went into molt
Then a week ago she started to gape and twist her neck when eating, she has a messy vent and white and green poo. I dont think she has been laying either, but apart from that she was fine in herself; eating drinking foraging. No eye or breathing problems. I started her on Flubenvet in case she had gape worm, plus gave her garlic and electrolye and vitamin in her water. In the last two days she has become very lethargic and huddled with her eyes closed; also unstable and using her wings to steady herself. Yesterday tea time she laid a soft shelled egg. I have also been given her Colloidal Silver, but today put her on anti-biotics as she is really not herself at all. I do not know what else to do to help her

I feel sorry for you AND your chicken. Sounds like you are doing EVERYTHING to help her. I have no idea as to her illness. Sometimes these chickens become ill and we have no idea why or how to treat them. I noticed you are in the U.K. (how cool). I don't know if there are more avion vets across the pond than there are here, but taking her to a birdie vet would be my only suggestion. Best wishes. If you find out anyting please post.

Oh yes just f.y.i. When you post for help on the B.Y.C. illness forum start with a few words of the problem. Like "favorite hen lathargic" or such. Just the word 'help'.doesn't get too many replys.
