Hi! I noticed Thursday night that one of my chickens, chocolate had a dirty butt. Friday morning I went out and it had a lot of white stuff coming from her vent so I assumed it was vent gleet, so I soaked her in epsom salt and gave her some Monistat and applied some to the area. After I soaked her, that’s when I noticed that it was not poop stuck to her butt, but more tissue like some of it is black and has yellow on it. Today we did a longer soak, and I also had to trim her feathers because she had a lot of sticky feathers because she’s very fluffy. She’s still acting completely normal minus the oozing from her vent. She’s been laying an egg despite having her in the house today and yesterday she’s eating and drinking fine. Today I was able to put Vaseline and get it in, but she instantly pushed it out. It just looks like it has yellow and white on it so I wanted to come here to see what else I can do. She was our very first chicken we got in February 2024 and I have bonded with her. Thank you.
