I have a styrofoam incubator with a really crummy hatch rate (usually 2 out of any number I put in ever hatch) and a batch of bantam eggs at day 19.

Outside is a (first time) broody hen sitting on 4 eggs (that I put under her 2 weeks ago). Is it too late to slip some of these others under her to see if I get a better hatch rate than from this stupid incubator? None of them have pipped yet and I would wrap them in a warm wet piece of gauze for the transport.

I can put the 4 half developed eggs in the incy if she hatches chicks and wants to abandon those, I have lots of that breed anyways, the incubator eggs are the valuable ones. Should I try it?

Most bantam eggs hatch on day 20. I personally wouldn't be moving them around as they are positioning themselves for hatch. I would leave the hen with her own eggs.
