First time incubating, just put these eggs in this evening and watched the auto turner go for he first time - it was ROUGH! it spins them a just over a full rotation, so they all spin in weird ways and land at different angles. Is it better to just hatch them without turning? Unfortunately I won't be able to turn them multiple times a day by hand as I won't always be home.

Looking at it now I wonder if they would spin better if i oriented them with the wide end towards eachother in each slot. The slots are oval shaped so the angle of the eggs would match the angles of the eggs ...

Any other thoughts??

I pretty much hand turn everything, even adjustable quail size turners have caused issues, my current batch has 5 eggs in lockdown out of 14 viable eggs (9 day 3-6 embryo deaths) due to the autoturner in a new incubator apparently not doing its thing and me not noticing in a timely fashion, good thing these are just random, what the heck eggs and not something I’m really excited about.
