Help -- Really struggling with culling older hens

It could also be the time of the year, as the days start shortening and the chickens start molting. Many of my older hens (2+ years) stop laying in August. Even the very best of my older layers usually stop in late Sept/October.
Morrigan, I have been making excuses for these girls for most of the summer: too hot, too rainy, moulting, snake-scares...
I have bought the "boosts" for their feed and something for their water!
I have seen a lot of cycles with my girls over the years, but NEVER one where so many stopped laying at the same time!!
