Hi all,
We’ve recently become happy owners of 3 Sablepoot cuties. We are not sure whether they are male or female and what type they are. They are around 8-9 weeks old with the black being the eldest.
Many thanks, Sofie

Roo as we call him (named even before we suspected he was a boy) behaves differently - he’s more outgoing, inquisitive and does his own thing but always takes care of the girls or tell them off. He loves chatting when roosting. Totally adorable.

Lol! Our Roo is so sweet - hope he doesn’t go too mad when he gets older. I don’t really know what happens to Roosters so should be interesting.

Roosters can be lovely though if you only have these three and that is a standard sized rooster you will need more hens. If you have kids then research how to behave around roosters to avoid problems where the kid's body language/behavior makes the rooster feel threatened and triggers aggression (some adult humans need lessons too).

Oh and my non-expert opinion is 1) Male 2) Undetermined 3) Female

#2 has a decent sized reddish little comb but could be a hen. #3 definitely looks very feminine with virtually no visible comb.

Thank you Sonya9. I don’t have small kids and my teen isn’t particularly interested. They are all bantams, so won’t be huge although Roo is already adding to his size much quicker than the other two. I am planning to add to my flock although I’m undecided about what type of bantam.
