For the second time one of my RIR Hens has laid an egg with no shell whatsoever. I'm not kidding, it is literally sitting there liked a non cooked egg over-easy but not cooked. but however the first one came out with her poop, but before I noticed it what happened(I was quite far away) I noticed our BO was drinking off our patio something and my RIR Zinnia( who laid the unusual eggs) was looking at me funny. Then sure enough our BO was drinking EGG! if anyone has any idea on what it is and how to prevent it, it would be very helpful and appreciated.

You need to put vitamins in their food, and provide them with a calcium intake.

For her first time in her life, my grandma got her first three chickens. This was a year ago. They all seemed well, and lively. All good, till she moved house, and I adopted her chickens, (my first aswell).

I noticed their shells soft, and even squidgy. The next day however, they had no shell, and the day after that, the same. They became ill. When I realised, I got them vitamins and added it to their food. But it was too late.

It's a problem of calcium deficiency.

In the end, two died, and only one managed to survive. I suggest you add vitamins to their food, and provide them a source of calcium from now on. Good luck, and hope they provide delicious eggs (with shells), for you and your family to eat. ;)

we have been giving them oyster shells in all their food for months now so that is the puzzling part.
