Hello my SLW's are 6 weeks of age and are growing at two different rates the larger of the two has the reddish come and feathers are fuller developed quicker with pattern in the smaller of the two has a yellowish comb and the feathers are not developing as fast also the larger of the two has bigger feet. If you determine gender by comb color and feather development one with the reddish come is developing his/her feathers faster. I'm thinking I have a roo (larger chick) and pullet (smaller chick). Any thoughts or feedback??
It could be that you have a roo and a pullet and that is why they are growing at different rates. But then again it may not be case amd that they are just different at developing. I have certainly seen this with my polish chicks. All of the same breed and parentage but have grown at different rates. Please do drop by the what breed gender section as drumstick suggested ~ https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/15/what-breed-or-gender-is-this
