I have ordered Silver Grey Dorking chicks twice from the hatchery. Both times all of the Dorkings died. Some died the first day, others died within 4 days after. All of them were perky and happy on arrival and up until the hour when they would suddenly crash and die. All of the other Chicks that came were fine and i have been raising chicks for sometime, so I do have some experience and a fair knowledge base.
Is there something up with Dorkings that makes them more fragile than other chicks? Anything special care?

Actually, they are a little more fragile as chicks, up until they're about 6 weeks old. A little more heat, good clean water with vitamins and good quality feed make all the difference. Out of all the breeds I hatch, the Dorkings are most likely the ones that will die on me, so I give them a little extra TLC.
