Help to identify

This guy was sold as a Barred Plymouth Rock.

Some of the body looks like a Plymouth rock (chest and neck), but the tail and belly do not. The comb is also wrong. I would say a mix, but I'm not sure what breed.

I saw this online but I think it's wrong. Or again a mix breed. I have found quite a bit of confusion around so far as positively identifying birds. And the Americana / Ameraucana / Easter egger debate makes my eyes cross.

He's black breasted silver but he's barred too...handsome fellow, but definitely a mix of some sort.

Edit: the comb...I have a roo that got a nasty frostbite (hit quite a few that year) and the result dubbed his comb like that.
