Hi, my son was mowing peach orchard three days ago, and happened upon a setting turkey (who promptly fled). There were seven eggs, five cracked (he didn't mention contents, I didn't think to ask) and he kept two. These were wrapped in towels to keep warm and kept in the back of a truck for a day. He gave them to me, we were visiting from another town, so we kept them wrapped and in the back of our car for a day. Last night we got home, I put them in a bowl, under a heat lamp (good distance - 2.5 feet, measured temp to around 99 degrees), and now I've put two wet clothes near, but not touching the eggs. Humidity in house is 55%. Tried to candle these eggs (reading many forums and articles - I buy chicks already hatched), and see darkness with air pocket on end. No veins, just the darkness. I have NO idea what to do, how old they are. Put X and 0 on both sides, but don't know what day these are, so do I turn or not? Any ideas appreciated. Have 26 3-week old chicks in our coop (chickens, not turkeys) and wouldn't mind adding a couple of turkey chicks.
