HELP! Turkey cut vein under wing!!!!

Please help!!! My young turkey fell from a low tree branch and cut the vein under the wing! He is currently in the laundry room wrapped in a towel with flower on the wound and we are applying pressure with paper towels. The bleeding is slowing down. Is there anything else we need to know when taking care in a wound like this?

Apply pressure. That will stop the bleeding.

From what I know, and what I have read, you are doing the right thing with the flour. Keep pressure applied. How large is the cut? Is it a gaping wound, or is it small enough to clot, and stay clotted. A large wound may open back up.

You may need to take care from infections. But you don't want it to panic, and start flapping its wings, and open that cut back up.

It's pretty small and has clotted. It is in a kennel in the laundry room now. We are waiting for it to heal a bit more before putting it back outside.
