HELP urgent egg that is making noise!

Help please I dont' know what to do - Doris has left the nest with 5 little chicks but there was one egg left I presuemed was dead (day 23) went to put it in the bin and it was chirping. What shoudl I do?????

OK so I got over my shock and calmed down and went and put the egg back under her. do you think that was OK? OMG I feel terrible - I just thought she had abandoned it as she was sat on the chicks to the side and it was cool I am so worried I've killed it. Should I try to get my neighbours incubator or just leave it to nature????

You could get the bator ready but if mama is still pretty settled just putting the egg back under might well work.

OK so I gave her some time and I went back down and she is still sitting in the same spot but has pushed the egg out. We have it wrapped in a warm towel. My neighbour has an incubator but she is out - waiting to hear back from her. What can I do in the meantime? an easy diy incubator??????

However, I’m wondering why she keeps rejecting it. That could mean something is wrong with the chick. But maybe not.

Most would say not if it hasn’t pipped. If it’s pipped internally (you heard chirping) I wonder if it’s shrink wrapping due to mama pushing it out.
