I have one chick which hatched a good 24 hours before the next. So that chick is in the brooder and fluffy and quite full of beans when it's time to put the next chick in. Problem is that first chick thinks chick #2 is lunch. it went right for the chick and started violently trying to tear pieces off. I quickly removed chicky#2 from it's hostile environment and put it back in the hatcher. What's the deal? How do I introduce chicky #2?

You might have to wait until the first chick is a little older and bigger and can defend itself. Then, put both chicks in something with a divider (such as a piece of screen) that they can't climb over but can see each other through. Let them get used to one another for several days. Then, remove the divider and see what happens. If chick #1 is still acting psycho, you might need to cull it...maybe it's just a very violent bird.
