help!!! what happened to my egg!!

I went out to my coop today to check to see how my chickens where doing. In my coop, my chickens use only two nesting, boxes, in both of them i have left one egg in each which have been marked with a pin. well when I got out there to check them on off the eggs where gone. Does anyone know what happen to that egg?

Yeah they will really eat the egg. I had a speckled sussex that would eat eggs right in front of me.

why do they do that?

We dry and crush our egg shells then feed them to our girls. They really like their "chicken chips". They act like they are a real treat and they add even more calcium to their diet. Jjust make sure you never give them a piece of shell that looks like an egg shell or it can be asking for trouble.
