Hi. I have noticed this going on with my barred rock. She is acting normal otherwise. We checked her for mites/lice, but did not see anything (going to check tomorrow evening with a flashlight, as tonight is going to be very cold). 20% protein + OS and grit. She is acting normal otherwise, still laying, foraging in the runner and eating/drinking. We did not notice anything wrong with the other ladies but it was nearly dark so we couldn't really check well. Thanks!

Edit: I do not think it is bullying, as I never see anyone mess with her. She is one of the top girls of the flock.

Some flock member is feather pecking/plucking her. It may be her 'best friend' as it frequently starts as grooming and then escalates.
Any advice to stop this? I was worried it was mites/lice. We do have one girl who always goes to the floor by the end of the night and lies behind the girls on the roost bar. It could be her plucking the feathers! Never thought of that. We did not get to check anyone else very well, but we are doing it tomorrow. Thanks.
