HELP-What will it do!?!?!?!?!?

Last Aug./Sept. I found a homing pidgeon. The owner was contacted and did not want it back. I have had it in an enclosed pen 15' x 15' since then. He got out today. He hung around for about 10 minutes then took off. What are the chances that he considers this "home"? Will he come back when it starts to get dark? I'm worried about him.....

depends on the breed, some racers will head straight home, some will just be off surveying their surroundings then return....

We had a similar situation. We also found a lost homing pigeon in Sept., and the owner did not want it. It has yet to be let out though. I know with our other homers, they hang around a bit, fly away, then come back.
