I noticed she was not very active and mostly staying under the heating plate this evening. I picked her up to check and I discovered what's in the picture. I have no clue what to do and I'm worried! I'm guessing it hurts when she moves because she's staying in just one place. I separated her from the others and she's also not complaining about that, which I also find worrisome. She's 2 weeks old. I think the white you see in the picture might be pus. What should I do? I'm very worried!

So I got her cleaned up and made sure she drank. It was clear that it hurt when I cleaned her even though I did so very gently. Could this be vent gleet? Is there anything else I can do at this time of night? I read to use fungal creams for vent gleet, would this be a problem if I put her back with the others? I'd guess she might be more stressed out if alone, but not sure what's best. Thanks so much to anyone who can give some advise.

I'm not able to get a good look at the pic currently, so I can't help with a diagnosis, but it helps if you can keep her within view of her brood mates to help keep anxiety down and keep you from having to do a full integration when she's healed up! Good luck with your little one!

Any way you can get a clearer photo?
If the vent is swollen, try gently soaking her in an epsom salts bath or use compresses of warm epsom salts water.
You can apply an anti-inflammatory ointment or oil to the vent to help sooth it.
If the chick is struggling to poop, then I would make sure she's drinking well and offer wet soupy chick starter to eat. You can also give a 1 time dose of coconut oil or mineral oil to help things move. (about 1/2 tsp)
