Two of my runner ducklings are nine days old today and I noticed a bump on each of their backs right above their tail. It looks like they may be sprouting feathers, but it almost resembles a baby cutting teeth. There is a feather growth coming out of a hole in their back and it is kind of freaking me out. At first I thought they were hurt, but they are both in the exact same spot.

Are they starting to grow their feathers? I didn't think this happened for quite a while. They are just babies!

So is this feathering or is there something wrong with them?
