Hi! I wanted to know why my male bird hits my female and what I can do to stop him. For context my male bird is the female birds child, the father died so it’s basically the kid and the mom now, the male is gonna be 1 year old on may 3rd, don’t know the females age
He hit her quite a lot this time (gonna attach photos for you guys to see) so I was just worried and wanted to know why he does this and how I can make him stop because I don’t want him to seriously injure her!

What kind of bird? Sounds as if he wants to breed her and she is resisting. You may need to separate them before he seriously injures or kills her.
They are grey francolins, and yes I am going to separate them now, I’ve also been thinking of getting another female, do you think I should go for that or no?
