I have a few coturnix quail scheduled to hatch tomm, fri and sat. To my surprise this morn I had 2 hatched before lockdown. They seem to be healthy but there legs are stretched out to the side. Will there legs straighten out and walk fine in a day or two? Thank you

Ive had some like that before and they never did get better. You can keep an eye on them since they arent getting trampled yet, but if they cant get to food or water then it doesnt look good

Make SURE to always use a non skid surface in the hatching area. MANY times spraddle leg is caused by a slick surface in the hatching environment. So lay down rubber shelf liner, put hay down or something like this to prevent this from happening.

Leave the bandaids on for a couple of days to keep strengthening the leg muscles. Watch when you remove the bandaids to make sure the splay leg does not return.
