So, as I have previously posted, I have 4 adult ducks, 3 hens 1 drake, that are about 2 years old. The females went broody due to me not pulling the eggs (we had a death in the family, was a lot going on, I usually pull the eggs daily) and ended up with about 5 or 6 fertilized eggs. One lived, the others didnt make it for various reasons. So the point being, I pulled this last duckling as soon as it hatched and was dry and have hand raised it by itself in the house. Single duckling, has no clue she's a duck. I would bring her out to her family every day but my females get extremely aggressive towards babies when they aren't broody, even if it's their baby, they don't care.

Baby duck (Blue ... Like the raptor from Jurassic Park lol) turned 5 weeks today and spent her first night outside. The females don't seem to be bothered with her - not being aggressive anyway - but my drake, Bob, will not leave her alone. I locked her inside the hut within the duck pen area so Bob couldn't get to her but paced and lunged at her from outside of the hut all night (as it was her first night out, I checked on her several times) When I went to feed them this morning, I opened the door to the hut and he ran in there from behind me. I pulled his duck butt outta there immediately...

How terrible for my girls and the flock as a whole would it be to separate my male from the females and baby, which is also a female ... I didn't know if he is more aggressive that she's a female? It's his baby with my Rouen, Lou and that seems to have absolutely no bearing on his desire to hurt this baby.

Any/all advice is appreciated as I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for in previous posts (I do use the search function before I post lol)

She thinks you're her momma. Plus she's very young. Poor girl. I myself think you should let her go out with the girl ducks during the day, if they are kind to her . Then keep her safe at night with you. After she is a few months old and save to be alone and need then blend them.
