Help with breed please?!

I’ve read three different articles on three different websites and that’s what they said. They didn’t say barred maran, said barred rock. Maybe I’m wrong.

The marans is a sex-link. Females are black, males are barred.

Yes that’s what I’ve read! I could’ve sworn they came from a straight run box because I remember thinking it was a gamble on the gender. Then when I search mystic maran roosters, mine looks nothing like them so I was very confused. Thank you!

I was under the impression the mystic marans was a sex link black copper marans and cuckoo marans breeding?

I thought they were a black copper maran and barred rock breeding which is why the males are barred but I could be wrong!

That’s what I’ve read also. None of the articles I’ve read said anything about cuckoo maran, only mentions BCM and barred rock.
