Help with breed

I bought 2 chicks that were suppose to be black Cochins and now they are both growing crests and I just noticed 1 has 5 toes on each foot... they are also turning a more mottled black and brown color. Any ideas on the mix? I'm thinking polish silkie or polish cochin mix maybe??

What a mess. you should ask for your money back. you got hosed. that's a shame. Any reputable breeder will give you your money back in full.

Most likely Cochin/Silkie crosses.

It's a silkie mix. Probably mixed with Cochin since that's what it's sold as. Polish is probably not involved. The Silkie has a crest and when bred with a "normal" looking chicken it will have normal looking feathers. It'll have the crest, 5'th toe and black skin.
I think it's cool looking, but if you payed good money for getting a pure breed Cochin, I'd have my money returned.

They are very cute but I am a bit disappointed. She's a nice lady and had got them from another chicken person who said they were black Cochins.
