I noticed today that one of my (flock of 10) chickens had poop with what looks like grains of rice. They roam freely in my yard as well as my dogs. I'm unsure of what to do or how to go about treating this. I'm sure I need a dewormer, I'm just not sure what is the best. Please help ASAP

Grains of rice looking organisms in feces are tapeworm larvae. Get Equimax paste (horse dewormer) give 0.15ml per 5lbs or 0.03ml per pound. Repeat dosage again in 10 days.

Is this common? Am I doing something wrong? Also, is this transmittable to myself and other animals?

Parasites are fairly common with chickens which is why it is generally recommended to worm them. They are eating worms, walking in their own feces and eating things off of the ground so it is bound to happen. Yes, tapeworm is transmit-able to both people and other animals. That is why it is important to thoroughly wash your hands every time you come back inside after doing chicken chores or handling anything involving your chickens. Also never touch your face while out with your chickens until your hands have been washed.

No. For Tapeworms you want Praziquantel.

I was tested and treated for tapeworm before and those look exactly like larva to me. That poop was not fresh fresh and when they die or are exposed to air they start to shrink/dry. That’s just what I am going off of though. I could be wrong too. If they were maggots wouldn’t they be moving? OP were they moving?
