I decided to do things the right way, I think. First I separated the hen from the rooster and other hens. There were (3) three eggs. The hen is alone now. Over the course of the next 7 days, she laid an egg a day. Now she has 10 eggs under her. The due dates, if I count 21 days for incubation is May 31 to June 9. Now the question; If an egg hatches on May 31 and she tends to motherly duties, will she ignore the remaining eggs or will she sit on the rest while she is mothering? All advise is helpful. I had two chicks hatch. My first two!!! I paid a little attention but I just left two eggs to see whet would happen. I am having fun now but with a lot more eggs, I think it's harder. My first two were sat on and are being raise by a great mother even though one is not hers. I know this because I left 1 brown egg and 1 white egg. Clearly she has a black sex link and the other looks just like her. Two possible fathers are Rhode Island Red and Silver Phoenix. She is a Silver Phoenix so that's how I determine lineage. I hope. Any thoughts would be appreciated and helpful.

One more item. The first E|E was a blue egg. Then one more blue Then the rest were PINK eggs. Is this normal because of broodiness or is she lacking something in her diet?

Any bird that is setting doesn't care what bird laid the egg. That's why some birds that don't set lay eggs in the nests of those that do.
Think cowbirds.
I think there is some information missing here. are you sure the hen was broody? Broody hens don't normally lay eggs.
If they did, there would be a lot of dead embryos when the hen leaves the nest to care for the hatched chicks.

I could not find a broody hen so I locked another hen in there. She sits but its like broody at gunpoint. So I don't know how to fix or if I have to fix as she lays on the eggs.
