Help with gender of the appenzeller spitzhauben (possibly a polish) Thanks.

Others are insisting it’s a male, what indicators lead you all to say female. Thanks!

Her coloring- males would not have black in their hackle and saddle feathers or crests, and have crazier crests.

Spitzhauben. Sometimes tricky to sex. I'm leaning male with wattles peeking at 8 weeks. Usually it's closer to about 10-12 weeks before I can confidently call it.

The white hackles and saddles usually come later, around 4 mo. As far as crests, any sex can have a wild and crazy do. I find the boys have a tendency to point more forward.

My new male and female at around 5 mo.

My girl can barely see through her crest!

I'm anxious to see what these two produce this spring. My other lines of spitzies are too dark. They don't have good spangling.

There two are from my original line. The one on the left is this year, about 6 mo, and the one on the right is last spring. See how dark the spangling near the legs is on the young one and almost black on the older? The olders back looks smudgy too.

I would definitely take some more pics in 2-3 weeks and repost.
