It could be splayed leg. I used a twist tie on mine. You just need to make them straight with a space between for a few days. Good luck!

When hatching it is important not to "help" them out of the shell. They need to fight with their legs to make them strong and straight.

Ive had 2 splayed leg quail so far. Each of them their legs were doing a split and they never could stand up, just pushed themselves around. When I stood them up they would just do a split.

That "might" be splayed leg or he may just be exhausted.... mine were very energetic. They pushed themselves everywhere but couldn't stand up.

If it is just taped his legs together, evenly spaced. One was good in 6 hours the other in 12.

It hatched completely on its own. It was fine at first but started having one leg splayed to the side with the other one underneath it loke it should be. I taped them evenly spaced because thats all I had. I used the medical tape so hopefully it will be easy to get off. Its toes were also curled on that leg so I tapes them straight as well like I have seen others do. I hope I am doing what is right, bit I guess I will jist have to wait and see. First time hatching so I am a bit antsy.
