Hi everybody!
I’ve been searching and finding several questions that are around my questions, but not as specific I guess.
today we are on day 26 of out hatch, I have runners and Cayugas in the incubator.
humidity around 70% and temp at 99-100°
About 4-5 of my ducks internally pipped yesterday with 2 of those being over 24 hours ago. I can hear them tapping on the shells, but they haven’t externally pipped. How long should I give them to externally pip before I step in to help?
If it was their due date I would be a little less apprehensive, but also knowing they only have a little over 24 in that aircell has me questioning if I should step in.

24 hours after the internal, you can make a small safety hole directly above the air cell, using a small brad point drill bit or a sharp sterilized screw, twist back and forth very slowly until you make a small hole, do not make the hole any bigger then the tip of the screw or you risk premature drying out of the membrane. 24 hours after the internal pip, not much can go wrong, it just ensures they get some air and don't suffocate. Happy hatching!

Here’s one for now :)
Best buddies!

Happy to report we have 10 happy and healthy ducks and 9 chicks!
I did need to help four ducks out that were shrink wrapped. I’m sure it was something I did wrong, but my hatch is now complete!
