Hi all. I'm not really new to the world of chickens (8ish years) but I have never incubated eggs before. I am planning on doing lots of research before incubating, and I figured that this was a good place to start. Could anybody with incubating experience help me please?

Just depends on what you're looking to know.

Ask away ... I am here to help if I can.

Haha i know very little about incubation of chickens. I'm pretty sure that the humidity of the incubator is supposed to be at 50-54% if you aren't doing a dry hatch and you go into lock down at 18 days. I don't need to know about candling the eggs, just the incubating process

Hatching 101. There really is such a thing. Search for it, it will tell you more than you ever wanted to know,

Don't ask me, I rarely candle and I incubate all wrong! No, really, I bend or break almost every rule and still get chicks to hatch, listening to them now.

it's honesty simple. I myself am very hands on. I keep my humidity around 40 to 45% day 0 to 18. I keep my temp at 99.5 to 100.5 it will fluctuate up and down but keep it around there. I turn the eggs 3 to 5 Times a day if I don't have the egg turner in. On day 18 I put my humidity to 70 to 75% and stop turning. This is the hard part to tell the truth because I just have to wait lol.... During hatching anything can happen and its very nerve wracking. I truly learned the saying "don't count your chickens before they hatch" but after a few days of no sleep it's so worth it. I really don't know what more to tell you. Hmmmm lol any questions you can think of feel free to ask

I have an egg turner, so that is good. This is off topic, but do jubilee orpingtons lay at the same time as normal chickens. The English standard ones.

Thank you person who suggested hatching 101. It has helped me greatly. I feel like I can now start my first incubation. I want to start having pretty good hatch rates before I try my jubilees. Looks like 'bators loaded.
