Help with my new coop

So I'm finishing up on my coop and I think I got the proportions wrong.

It is 36 inches long and 40 inches wide by 24 inches high.

the nest box is on the outside so that isn't figured into the floor plan.

How many Orpingtons can I get in this baby?

you want 2 to 3 sq ft per bird inside if not more.

I had read that for the larger birds like Orps there should be 4 sq ft per bird.

Is that a little excessive?

I think more is always better- for the health and happiness of the birds. A lot depends how much time they can spend outside. I was counting on mine to free range, little did I know they wouldn't want their toes to touch snow!!! I built an addition, that I call the "sunroom". I made a room out of metal roofing, and old windows. The girls love it , when it is cold out or real windy...

I have no idea what I'm going to do for the winter.

I would like 4 Buff Orps I'm just nervous that I don't have enough coop space for them.
