Hello all,

I am raising a flock of 12 hens and rosters.
Today my daughter found one of the hens just lying inside their run.
I went to check on her and I found that shes is not able to walk or properly move.
She is walking with the back part of her legs. Her feet seem to hurt when I hold her.
Here is a pic of her just laying.
Can someone give me any advise on this issue?

I would suggest separating her immediately though it has already probably spread if it is mareks. Mareks is highly contagious to chickens and don't visit anyone else's farm or go to any farm stores. Try to have one pair of boots for chicken work and keep those separate from the others if this happens to be Mareks. I'm praying it isn't Mareks, good luck!

She may have injured herself, could possibly have a riboflavin (vitamin B2) deficiency, or Mareks disease symptoms. If she has been exposed to Mareks, the others would also have already been exposed, so the only reason I would separate her is in case the others are bullying her. Here is some reading about Mareks: https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/the-great-big-giant-mareks-disease-faq.66077/

She may eat better with the others nearby. Start her on some vitamin B complex tablets--1/2 tablet daily ground in a treat or her food. A little chopped egg and a tsp of plain yogurt would be a good treat. Make sure that she can reach her water and food since she could starve as you are trying to help her. A chicken sling may help with keeping her upright in front of food and water, or you may be able to prop her up with towels. Here are some examples:

Thank you for all your advise!!
I really appreciated!
I separated her immediately as I started reading about Marek's, Vitamin B deficiency and also egg bound. She seems the same but not worse at least.
I am giving her water with electrolytes and vitamin b.
Now my question is! When should I know if she is not going to get any better and when/how to end her misery!
