Hello all! I need some with what to do with a rogue rooster. I have my flock of pullets 7 girls, and I have this random rooster that has now showed up and causing ruckus in my flock. I have no idea where he came from and now he won’t leave. I know he is mating with my girls and have been having a problem with digging out of the back yard tearing up my fences and escaping daily since he has come around. He also is not very friendly and chasing my kids where they used to play in the back yard with my girls. I’m not sure about rehoming him as you can’t get near him and i hate to dispatch him but seems like might be only option. Also I think I’m getting fertilized eggs now and should I be storing or doing anything different t with them as they seem to be going rotten on me this week. Thanks all for the help!

No reason fertile eggs should go rotten any faster than non fertilized.

I'd dispose of him....someone probably dumped him.
If you know where he roosts at night, you may be able to grab him after dark.

All of this. Fertilized eggs are fine. You're never going to notice the difference and if he's causing you problems he needs to be removed. I dont know your situation, but where I live he'd be meeting a .22LR.
