I noticed today that one of my RP hens is acting strange. Her neck is a little cocked to the side. She also stumbles some when walking. She is eating and drinking. Poo is normal. I was thinking it might be a lack of protein or maybe I should give some vit b. I always appreciate the help ya'll give. I hate to loose her they are all getting to breeding age and she is a beautiful hen.

is there any possibility she could be injured?
you say the neck is cocked..
does it seem loose or limber?

try giving extra protein and vitamins..
separate to make sure she is eating her share, since she may not be able to compete.

some possibilities:

some sort of exposure to toxin..(ate something bad or rotten, chemicals, fertilizers, motor oils, rodent bate or poison, stagnant/contaminated water, moldy feed or grain)

injury

Newcastle Disease

Mereks..(slight possibility..except for the cocked neck)

I would definately pull her to another pen, and keep her seperate for a few days or so, just to watch her, and see that she is not sick (contagious)Maybe the Tom stepped on her..and gave her a stiff neck? I was watching my Tom the other day...learning to mate(just about a year old) and he was really rough on the hens. I feel so sorry for them...the way he treads on thier backs. Might have to break out the duct tape here.
Make sure she is getting good amounts of feed, and I would up the protien in her diet. Vitamins are always a good idea...JMHO Good luck with her, I hope she recovers well!

She acts just like I have before when I have pulled a muscle in my neck....she can look around but it seems like it hurts when she moves it to the left.......

I have done all I know, she won't eat any hardboiled egg. I don't know what else to do. Today she was laying on her back when I went out...thought she was dead for sure....she did drink some water...I know it is just limited time.....She is the one I hatched from eggs I got last spring always wanted in my lap.....the only good news today is my male is trying to breed my other females he is a sweet tom...they squat down for him just like my hens do for my sweet roo. Circle of life I guess....
