I'm clueless about horse trailers, but we bought one anyway. Used at an auction. One of the tires blew out on the way to an auction this last weekend, and I figured it would be no big deal to just buy a tire somewhere.

I figured wrong.

It is a 700-15 LT.

I had never even heard of such a beast. I can't find them anywhere, used or new. Sears I can order one online, but would rather not wait.

So, any ideas? Is this something I can just switch out for a more standard size tire as long as I change them all out?

Basicly 7.00 is the width in inches, 15 is rim diameter in inches, LT stands for Light Truck.
Usually these type of tires are six ply, six plys of nylon or polyester cord. A regular good passenger car tire has 4 plys.

I sold a ton of these tires back in the 1970s when I worked at Western Auto.

I can tell you that if the tire had those measurements on the side, without the metric conversion, the tire was very old, bound to blow out or fail. Check the other tires on the trailer, I would bet they all show signs of cracking, dry rot and tread seperation.
